hello! my name is hana (they/them) and i offer a unique blend of massage therapy and reiki energy healing. guided by a profound belief in the body's innate capacity to heal, i create a space where my clients can slow down, release pain, and integrate their healing. 

my approach is intuitive and emergent, as i listen to the signals of the body and allow each session to be tailored to my clients specific needs. i draw from a diverse range of modalities including swedish, deep tissue, acupressure, craniosacral therapy, reiki, cupping, and grief massage. whether my clients seek clinical treatment work for specific injuries or a moment of deep relaxation, i've helped many find relief from the countless ways that pain and stagnation can show up in the body. 

i welcome all bodies and i specialize in working with highly sensitive people who experience symptoms like anxiety, depression, stress, neck pain, and headaches as well as many more ailments physically, emotionally, and spiritually. 

⚘ about iyashi bodywork

located in my studio in seattle near the beautiful and soothing ancient forest of seward park. 

The character 癒 (iyashi) differs from the conventional definitions of the verb "to heal," in that what it actually means is "to alleviate", "to quench" and "to satisfy". It also has a connotation of "comfort," "soothing," and "solace," implying that 'healing' occurs beyond just the physical realm - but in the mental and spiritual realm as well.

⚘ background

with a background in art and design, my exploration of healing arts is deeply influenced by my understanding of the interconnectedness of healing and creativity. prior to massage therapy and energy work, i was immersed in the world of art and design, honing my skills and sensitivities. 

driven by a desire to remember my own connection to my body and explore embodied practices, i found resonance in the realm of dance, movement and performance. for years i’ve dedicated myself to the study and practice of various movement forms, gaining insights into the intricacies of body mechanics and the profound connections between our bodies and our feelings, stories, and memories. through the journey of returning home to my own bodily sensations, I felt a tug on my spirit to move toward offering massage therapy and energy work. 

i began studying massage therapy at california holistic institute in 2020, then finished at bellevue massage school, now called the washington spa academy, and became licensed in 2022. upon graduating, i delved into more studies of modalities that i felt drawn to including craniosacral therapy at bastyr university and grief massage at the institute of grief massage. i’ve studied reiki with morohoshi sensei of starnation reiki and with marika of energetic ecology. i feel so honored to have been given these opportunities to study with so many incredible teachers, human and non-human.
